Geothermal Systems

Bringing you comfort when it counts.

What are Geothermal Systems?

Geothermal systems heat and cool your home by exchanging heat with the earth from the ground outside your home.

Geothermal systems, also referred to as ground source heat pumps, provide heating and cooling by exchanging heat with the ground by using the earths constant temperature with continuous flow of water circulated through loop systems and back into the house. During the winter, the water is heated by the warmth of the earth and during the summer is cooled as it travels through the pipes. The geothermal heat pump then exchanges this into the properly cooled and warmed airflow and distributes it through your home’s duct system. Geothermal comes in a variety of applications (see illustration) but remain the same in principle.

Advantages of Geothermal Systems

  • Although initial cost for install is more than a standard heat pump due to the well and loop fields, the energy efficiency and cost savings is more significant than other HVAC systems.
  • Reduces carbon footprint using the earth as a renewable energy source.
  • More balance heating & cooling experience
